Our story
Bloom began with a simple question: who takes care of the carers?
For a long time, I understood caring not just as love, but as carrying things that many people never see. As a carer, I experienced the mental load that often comes with supporting someone you love: the appointments, the constant thinking ahead, the advocating, the emotional ups and downs, the quiet exhaustion.
And somewhere along the way, I realised something many carers quietly experience: the focus slowly shifts. To the person being cared for, to the appointments, to getting through the day, to making sure everyone else is okay. And somewhere in the middle of all of that, the carer slowly disappears.
You keep showing up, you keep giving, you keep holding everything together. Even when you are overwhelmed. Even when you are tired in ways people do not always see.
I found myself longing for something simple: a space where carers could just breathe. Something warm, human, and gentle. Not clinical, not overwhelming. Just somewhere to reconnect, laugh, create, feel understood, and remember that they matter too.
"We wanted to create the space we wished had existed for us during the moments caring felt heaviest."
So that idea became Bake & Bloom. Together, we envisioned something different: a place where creativity could become a bridge to connection, belonging, and emotional relief. A space where carers could come exactly as they are, no pressure, no expectations, just community.
Because sometimes support begins in ordinary moments: a shared laugh, a quiet conversation, creating something beautiful beside someone who understands.
What started as one idea has slowly grown into something much bigger: a vision for carers to feel supported, connected, empowered, and less alone. Because carers deserve care too.
